Thuringia for people

with hearing impairments and deaf people

Thuringia has a lot to offer for the eyes, palate, and ears, including vast landscapes and woods, interesting structures and art, vibrant cities, and gastronomic delights.
Some Thuringian organizations have already established options for people with hearing problems and deaf tourists, such as guided tours in German sign language or with a mobile hearing loop, subtitles in the theater, and hearing-friendly hotel rooms.

“Tourism for All” - Verified. Detailed. Reliable.

“Tourism for All” is the nationwide labeling system for barrier-free tourism offers, which is based on extensive criteria to ensure high quality standards in the area of accessibility. It represents a high quality feature for guests, as it was developed by tourism associations in cooperation with associations of people with disabilities.

Specially trained surveyors record establishments on the basis of survey forms that are valid throughout Germany. This provides all guests with comprehensive and verified information on the accessibility and usability of the facilities. In addition, there are trained staff in the establishments.

Four pictograms are used to identify establishments that meet specific quality standards for people with hearing problems or who are deaf.
