Rhöner Herzblut
Fresh, seasonal varieties of fruit and vegetables go into the jars at Rhöner Herzblut. The factory’s “preservers” all grew up in the three-sided farmstead in the Thuringian Rhön Mountains and their chutneys and fruit spreads only contain ingredients that they have grown themselves or obtained from the natural orchards of the biosphere reserve. They put their heart and soul into creating preserves with a distinctive intensity of colour.

Seafarers once set off for distant countries to bring back the spices that we can now spell in this village in the Thuringian Forest: the Spice Museum in Schönbrunn presents the long tradition of the production of exotic spices and their healing powers. Dry-aged-beef from Thuringia
Old family recipes in conjunction with natural spices and high-quality meat from farms in the region – that is the winning formula of Landfleischerei Lindig, a butcher’s shop in Krölpa and Saalfeld. Günter and Dirk Lindig regularly visit their suppliers, where the animals are kept under appropriate and stress-free conditions. The dry-aged beef from Angus cattle reared in Thuringia is a particular delicacy. It develops its taste during the maturation process in a special cell with a rock salt wall.
